My bee breeding operation is run primarily as a fascinating hobby and not a commercial business, but each year I am able to make available a limited number of pure native dark queens, and a small number of nucleus colonies. As I cannot devote time to instrumental insemination for other than my own stock replenishments, I am offering for sale my surplus virgin queens. The queens supplied are from carefully selected pure breeder queens, and cannot be compared with the average hybrid replacement queen. I suggest that as the morphometric rating of these queens will be exceedingly high, they are best used as drone breeders to seriously improve your own stock. The morphometric readings for both the parent queen and the parent drone stock are recorded for each queen supplied. Collect from Wadhurst, East Sussex, or will be posted by next day special delivery mail. I always recommend that your queens are collected in preference to using the postal system.

The nucleus colonies are on 5 frame national commercial (16”x 10”) frames; collection only in your own boxes, and will be headed by one of my pure native dark queens from my best stocks, and mated naturally in my own apiary. As my apiary is flooded with drones from my own native dark bees, the chances of these queens being mated with them are high, but this cannot be guaranteed. As with the queens, the morphometric readings for the parent queen stock are recorded for each nucleus queen supplied.

It must be emphasized that the morphological character and the purity of these native dark bees is amongst the highest you will find (possibly the highest), making them a rare but exciting introduction for the serious beekeeper.
